My (not built in) GPS died and I'm considering replacing it with a Car Computer. I also figure if I do it I should go "whole hog" and replacing the CD Player/Tape Deck with an LCD Touchscreen.
I'm fine with the computer side of things but I can't find enough information about how I would connect the thing to the wiring harnesses in my 2002 Aztek and I'm hoping someone can help.
I found a picture of the back of the OEM radio and I see two connectors: a 24 pin(?) connector and a 12 pin(?) connector. I'm assuming, from what I can find, that the 24 pin connector is the "standard" radio wiring harness. I'm also assuming, more from guessing, that the 12 pin connector is for the steering wheel controls.
Is there anywhere that can tell me more information about what volts, amps, watts, joules, dynes, or whatever I'll need to push/pull from those connections?
Conversely, is there anything (especially for the speakers) that I could connect to the harness and then just plug in either RCA cables or a 1/8" headphone jack and it would take care of pumping out the right thing for the speakers? (A mini amp of some sort?)
Thanks in advance!
Matt
