car wont start!! security? engine?

Here is what it does:

I turn the key ON , all the lights come on, and all go off EXCEPT the batt light, security light, and engine service soon light. Is this normal? I havent noticed, car usually starts.

Now I try to start the car and it cranks but doesnt even try to start. After I try starting, the security light goes out but engine service soon and batt stays on.

I tried turning the car off for a long time, then getting in turning the key ON and leaving it for 10-20 minutes, but the security light never goes out. Then I would try to turn it off and start it but nothing.

I also hooked up a snap on scan tool and got a P1189 oil sensor code, but not sure if that has much to do with it. I cleared out the code.

I think its the security system but I dont know why I cant reset it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hello, I had many problems like you are having now. After taking my car into the shop over 10 times in 2 months I did some research. The mechanics kept telling me it was the battery...after it being replaced a couple of times i didnt believe that anymore. So it is THE SECURITY SYSTEM. The last time i took my car in...i told them about the research i did and they looked into it. They sent my car to pontiac and they said it was the security system, it had to be replaced. All is well now...GOOD Luck!

I have the same problem... my car won't start and after the security light goes off, I can then start the car. The security light comes and goes, but since the last time I had the car not start, the light has been on permanently and won't turn off. How much was it to replace the security system? I have already put about $2000 into the car in the past three months due to towing, batteries, alternater, fuel pump module, etc.
