Caravan vs. 89 Trans Am

GTA? My brother and his friend are going to the 1/4 mile track in the summer to race. The wadger is 500$, bragging rights and the loosing side has to pay for beers that night. My brothers friend Nick has taken an old dodge caravin the ones with the turbo built into it. Well hes completely gutted the van, re-fabricated pretty much everything and has stuck a new turbo twice the size of the old one into the engine, sand blasted everything and has just gone to town to it. He is convinced its going to beat my brothers Trans Am GTA which is pretty much stock except for a custome air intake. No NOS man to man. Who do you think will win in the 1/4. Im sayin to Trans AM but I dunno the other guy is convcinced hes gonna win this im not sure im curious as to what other people think.

I think who ever is driving the Caravan is an idiot... The van has no hope in hell, I dont care how much he has gutted it, the frame alone weighs as much as the GTA does. He'd have to have 350 + HP Just to keep up. That guy needs to give his head a shake... A guy here in Calgary has an Astro van with a 383 stroker and slicks in the rear and he only runs 14's in the quarter...

I'd say to give the idiot a break - forget the $500, just make sure he brings good beer.

Uhhh Guys there is a 2.2 Turboed caravan around here that is well known for running low 12s in the quarter mile with nothing more than wider street tires and gutted of corse..(The guy is a Chicago street racer)
a stock GTA will run in the 14s in "Great" tune with a L98...
I would watch out if the guy knows his turbo stuff a 2.2 chrysler engine can and will smoke a stock (and some modded 3rd gens)...
