hey all
am planning on buying this used pontiac sunfire car and i have the vin number 3G2JB52442S189506, would someone be able to get the carfax vehicle history

Not sure, but I suspect that if you pay the required service fee, you'll be able to receive the report.
Keep in mind that the Carfax reports only contain the information that has been reported.
If a car has been crashed, or has been flood damaged, etc. and there was no official report of the damage, like an insurance claim, or police report, Carfax will not be aware of this previous damage. And, I believe the Carfax Guarantee does not cover damage that was never reported.

So, if someone crashed the car, and managed to get away before the cops showed up, (happens more often than one might think)and then had the car fixed by cousin Bubba, there would be no history of the car ever being damaged.

IMO,you're really better off having the car checked over by a well experienced, and professionally trained mechanic. (not cousin Bubba) The service may cost a little more than a Carfax history report, maybe even twice as much, but Carfax isn't going to inspect the car for defects in the braking and suspension systems, nor is Carfax going to check the condition of the transmission fluid for signs of being overheated, or look under the oil fill cap for signs of poor oil change intervals. And lets not forget about checking the body for repairs. I doubt that Carfax would be aware of any rust that was repaired. Body shops aren't known for being the best record keepers. And most likely repairs like rust, unless done under warranty, would never be recorded.

Unless you have an interest in how many owners the car has had, or if it was ever stolen, I'd forget about the Carfax, and have it checked over by a pro.
