I was wondering, what can I put into my gas tank to help clean the catalytic converter and help to make the car run smoother? On youtube, a mechanic named Scotty Kilmer said he's been using lacquer thinner in the gas tank for 30 years. Then I've also seen products like cataclean, product called "catalytic converter cleaner" and on the can it says cleaner and deodorizer plus it has 4 reviews, all of them with at least 3 or 4 stars out of 5. Then some others called "CRC 05063 Guaranteed To Pass Emissions Test Formula", also a cleaner and deodorizer by a company called "Solder-It", and also tune up in a bottle by Lucas. I was wondering if any of them do what they say? Are they all scams? And if they actually work, which one is best and will get more bang for your buck?
