I have a 2003 Pontiac Montana (not the extended version). It used to be my mom's minivan, and she has since handed it down to me. While I'm grateful for the gift, I don't need seats for 6 passengers, and I hear removing weight from a vehicle makes it more energy efficient.

I could just remove the 3rd row, and have more trunk space. However, the middle row is the 60/40 split style, which leaves me one seat short of the ideal 4 passengers. Does anyone know if it's possible to have a middle row with three passenger seats on this model? I found a pdf copy of the user's manual at pontiac.com

Ideally, I would be able to have two seats up front, and three in the middle so it seats as many people as the average sedan, but with a huge trunk space. I think the bucket seat style fits three across the middle row, but I'm not sure if it's possible to change the seat style in a Montana that originally had the 60/40 seats. Any ideas?

from what i remember on my 2000 non extended van , the floor layout will determine what seats you can place where.
