I have noticed my headlamps are very foggy looking and arent very bright....any suggestions on what to use to try and clean them up?

autoparts stores carry kits for refurbishing the plastic covers

The kits are fine, the foam and toothpaste will work too. Or, you can use a fine polishing compound and polish the plastic lenses either by hand or with a low rpm buffer (being careful not to burn the plastic).

The sun causes the surface of the plastic to oxidize and yellow. Basically, you just have to remove the oxidized layers and polish the cleaned surface. Once you have them clear and shiny again, you can help to keep them that way by waxing them along with the car.

I know this thread is bit a old. I've seen a lot of headlight restoration products online and I'm just curious which kit is better -- 3M, Mothers or Meguiars? What brand have you tried guys?

Personally havent used any of them but all three are known brand names and I dont think you could go wrong with any of them.

I did mine recently with 200 grit wetsand and turtle wax polish.

i have cleaned them up with a sock and OFF bug spray . . if not that, than simple 1000-1200 grit sand paper and hand buff . . kits consist of sand paper, and buffing compound and polisher . . reseal with a good clear coat if wanted . . i washed mine with water and hit with rain-x instead and stayed clean for months
