clicking in recirc/vent in dash 03 Sunfire

When the recirc is turned off for defrost, there is a loud clicking noise in the dash. I "think" there is an obstruction in the "door".

How do I get to it to check it? I don't want to do any unnecessary stuff or trigger the air bags.

It could be an obstruction or the door actuator. In either case you access it from under the dash. This video may be of help

This is exactly my problem. Thanks for the link. It's my wife's car and she's making more noise than the actuator is.
