Should I clone my clean 70 lemans sport convertible into a gto or is that a bad move? New to pontiac!

That's up to you. Compare the cost of cloning it versus selling it and buying a GTO.

In my opinion, keep it real! By all means add some performance and aesthetic goodies but keep GTO badges on GTO’s! Same for all others (Trans Am, SS, 4-4-2, etc.). Again just my personal opinion.

Like Classic Fan said, keep it Lemans. Just an opinion

Ok here we go...

4670 Lemans Sport Convertibles Built

3413 Lemans Sport manual trans built

In Contrast...

3615 GTO Convertibles Built

168 GTO Judge Convertibles Built

288 Ram Air V Convertibles Built

37 Ram Air IV Convertibles Built

Not much difference in the numbers, but with option breakdown , your car could be rarer. I would bite the bullet and get the PHS report before you make your decision.

Unless you are building your car to make future big $ , It's not worth ruining a low production car to make Barrett Jackson money.

Just my opinion,

Doug in P.R.

Makes sense. I was looking at it from the performance version side, not the normal version. Regardless, I still like originality but appreciate the time and talent for a well done clone.
