Hi and thanks for the add. I have a 91 Sunbird that the top just stopped working. The relay is getting the signal from the switches but doesn't activate the pump. I jumped the pump and it works.
I've opened the relay and there are no broken conductors or burned contacts. The relay seems to be made of unobtainium and nobody has one. I was thinking of rewiring with a pair of cube relays but
the system swaps the ground conductor and i can't come up with a solution. Any help would be appreciated.

With the relay open do you see any movement when you activate the switch?

no power gets to the pump but the relay functions in both directions. there are two parts in the relay which i'm guessing are diodes that are attached to the metal body of the relay base and contact the relay housing when the two are reassembled. i can configure two cube relays to perform the polarity swap but i'm thinking i'll need two more to toggle the ground connection. the pump is not grounded to the chassis and there are only two wires feeding it. just seems like there's a simpler solution, like the OEM relay. can't believe nobody has one since from what i've read it's also used for door locks.

Diss-connect pump get your jumper cables or some wire and apply power directly to pump. If nothing happens , its a bad pump.
I have a 64 Catalina convertible and there are no fuses or relays from original wiring or at least in my case.
I bought a new power switch and it came with enough wire to reach pump in trunk...
FWIW
