Here is the scenario:

Girlfriend called me at lunch yesterday and said the car is smoking. She was sitting in the car, with it running at idle eating her lunch.
She turned the car off and smelled coolant, looked under the car and said it was on the floor from tire to tire.
I drove over there, added some coolant (took .5 to 1 quart). Started the car and couldnt find a leak.
I drove home, put it in the garage and started to search.
It was wet from coolant underneath the water pump and also on the roof of the hood right above the serpentine belt, almost like it sprayed from the belt onto the roof.
I let the car run in the garage for about 20 min, couldn't find any leaks (except a bit from the overflow tube).
The car stayed at normal op temp (both heat on full blast and air on full blast)
The next day, i took the car to work (30 min of city driving) and the whole time the belt squealed. The belt squeal goes away at half throttle or higher and at idle. It is only squealing at 1/8 to 1/4 throttle.

My only thoughts could be the water pump... any help is greatly appreciated.

Use a pressure tester to verify the source of the leak and check to make sure the cooling fans come on when the engine is sitting at idle for a long time. Did she notice the temperature reading when it overheated?

She didnt pay attention to the temp reading. When i was running it yesterday for about 25 min at idle and today driving for 45 min there was no flux in the temperature gauge. Stayed normal.

I will do the pressure test this weekend.

I cant remember the last time ive heard or seen the cooling fans come on... All fuses look good
