I have a 2002 with a 2.2 and my cooling fan does not come on when the AC is on and the car is in gear. It functions correctly all other times, comes on when the temp goes up, when the defrost is on and when the AC is on and the car is in Park. I have looked around quite a bit and can't seem to find anyone who has this specific problem.

No what happens is the compressor cycles on and off and kicks up the engine speed up (at idle and while driving) in what I assume is an attempt to get the fan on but when it gets to the temp threshold (around 225 I would guess) it turns on and cools down.
