I am looking to rebuilt my 71 350 and am wondering what an average cost would be to have a machine shop do it. I would have the block boiled, bored .3"0 over and have it line honed. I'd also obviously have new pistons. I understand that there is a great margin and that it varies a lot. But other than new bearings, gaskets and service to the heads I am keeping it the same. It is a numbers matching motor. A rough number would be great thanks

The cost will vary across the country and even within the same area. Start calling local machine shops.

Yes, prices will vary. I called a few machine shops near me a few months ago about work on a 400. I was given estimates in the $1000-$1200 range for machine work on block, heads, and balancing the rotating assembly. Just call around and get some prices.
