Disc brake conversion on 1968 Firebird 400?

I have a 1968 Firebird 400 and would like to convert it to disc brakes. Does anyone have experience with these kits? I have seen a few on eBay, but they also lower the car. I am not looking to lower the car, but would like to improve the stopping power, as it is a little squirrely right now. The car is stock except for air shocks in the rear and some braces welded underneath. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't see the connection between brakes and the ride height of the car. There are many companies that offer conversion. Baer, wilwood, ssbc etc.
