Do I need to hone this cylinder

I m doing a head gasket on my 06 torrent and notice the cylinder was scratch big enough to feel with the finger nail . How imperative is it it to have it honed. I’m think it would be easier to get a whole new motor then having to take the block to shop . I really don’t want to strip it down. Bearings,pistons timing chain etc. could I just buy the new hg on and hope for the best

Assemble the engine and do a leak down test.
