I was told my evap system is leaking, and it failed the smog test, I need to be able to find the leak, but first i need to know how the smog guy tested it.
the can has 2 hoses attached to it, one goes to the carb. and the other goes to the gas tank. Im assuming the gas tank and the cap and hose going to the canister need to be air tight, so I removed the hose at the can and pumped air into it, and it did not hold pressure, is that the right way to check it? that is what I need to know. I think its not sealing where the sending unit goes into the tank, so I get to do that again, and now it has gas in it. Im not complaining, I know this car is a treasure eventually.
