I know it comes in V6 but i'm not sure if it comes in V4 or not..
wikipedia is not a resourceful site, its all info that anyone can write, hence why i asked the question.

there is no such thing as a v4 on vehicles its either 4 v6 or v8 v12 and in some rare older vehicles v12 now you have straight or inline 6 or 5 cyl and some classics have straight 8 cylinders .. even if you think of a porsche or vw bug eng its still only a 4 cyl not a v4

No, no 4-cylinder option(thank God).

It came with 3 engine choices.
1. 3.6 V6 with 256 hp
2. 6.0 V8 with 361 hp
3. 6.2 V8 with 415 hp.

A car that size with a 4 cylinder would be incredibly slow and get terrible mileage because the engine had to work so hard.

V4's are typically only found in motorcycles and outboards. Cars use I4's and Flat 4's.

No 4 cylinder in the Pontiac G8 range,as Holden will not put a small 4 cylinder in its commodore range, they did it in the late 70's and it turned out to be a disaster ( sales wise ) for Holden. Only 3.6 V6, 6.0 V8 and 6.2 V8. But here in Australia Holden just released a new 3.0 V6 to add to the commodore range

I'm sorry but this response really really erk'd me. If you're going to correct someone make sure you are correct.

First- there is such a thing as a v4

second- there are way more configurations than just 4 v6 v8 v12 and i6 and i5, in fact there are 8 different versions of a 6 cyl alone that I can count off hand. everything from radial 6 to flat to slant to stacked to straight.

third- the straight six is the oldest version of the six cylinder not a newer version. And by saying "now you have straight or inline 6 or 5 cyl" you are saying that it is something new. BMW has never used a six that was not an inline motor.

fourth- you said V12 twice

fifth- porsche was one of the first companies to manufacture a v4

sixth- modern bugs are 4cyl. Most classic bugs where a radial 3 cyl.

seventh- there are 1cyl 2cyl 3cyl 4cyl 5cyl 6cyl 7cyl 8cyl 9cyl 10cyl 12cyl 14cyl 15cyl 16cyl 18cyl 20cyl 24cyl 28cyl 32cyl engines and so many configurations of these motors that I don't even want to begin naming them all off.

So in short, it's okay to correct someone just don't try to pump yourself up by making it seem like you know more than you really do because someone with more experience will come by and tear you back down again.:D
