I have a 2005 Montana SV6 with a built-in DVD player that is mounted to the ceiling and a display that flips down. It will show video, but no sound comes through the speakers or through the IR headphones (headphones set to channel 1) when playing a DVD.

Do any of you know how to fix this? I read elsewhere online that reprogramming the radio with a GM tech II tool may fix it (i.e. the RSA is turned off), but I don't know if that's the case.

FWIW, if I use the RCA inputs to feed audio and video, it works, just not through the factory DVD player.

I took the DVD player out of the van and dissected it, looking for any fried parts on the circuitboards. I totally removed the topmost circuitboard (that has the clear plastic cover over it), unplugging all of the wiring harnesses connected to it.

After I didn't find anything obviously wrong, I put it all back together and hooked it up in the van again. After that the sound works!!
:D

How did you get the dvd player out? My player doesn't work and I want to pull it out but don't want to mess anything up in the process.
Thanks.

There are two screws behind the screen when it is flipped down and one wiring harness to disconnect. It should pop right out.
