engine air flow through vents at top of bay

what is the air flow direction through the two engine compartment vents located behind the back window?:confused:
 
i would guess down and out the bottom with a low pressure zone in the front and back middle
 
The air flows up and out the vents. The low pressure behind the window draws the air up from the vents. The air comes from under the car.
