Engine Light has just come on

Hi, so I've had my 2003 Sunfire all of a week (146k miles), and the 'check engine' LED on the dash has just come on. Everything sounds and feels fine, and I have read what the manual has to say about this being to do with keeping optimum emissions etc.

I just a second opinion from you expert folks as to what common problems with the Sunfire may cause this, and if there is any home remedy?

(I have checked the oil and other levels - all seem fine.)

Take it to autozone and get them to scan the codes to see what code it is giving off. This will give you a idea as to whats wrong. It could be something simple thats a easy fix.

If you recently make an engine wash whit water pressure or steam, and the employers dont cover electric parts, the car sbegins whit electric failures. that hapened more whit recently cars, hope i help you
