Engine turns but won't Start Up

I was driving on the freeway when suddenly I felt the car lurch and then a sudden loss of power then the car turned off and I coasted off the road. I tried to start it up but the engine would turn but would not start back up. WTF happened????

If someone has any idea, thanks in advanced :)
 
fuel pump went, fuel filter clogged? When is the last time the car had a fill tuneup? How many miles on the car? Difficult to answer with so little information.
 
When I turn the key I can hear the motor of the fuel pump. I will check the fuel filter. Milage? I'll check when I get off work. Car has been running great and no symptoms until this incident. Have had the car 4 years and haven't tuned it up.

Would a car stop like that outta the blue if it needed a tune up?:confused:

Car eats fuel PUMPS!!!

My wife car has had 3 pumps put in the last year! There is something else wrong with this car that is causing this pump to fail. I have searched the internet and have had no luck finding other solutions, but I will! A lot of other people have had this same issue.
 
does your wife let the gas gauge go to empty quite often before refilling? Are you using a brand name pump or something from offshore?
 
not often

I'm sure it gets low every now and then but not often. We change filters regularly and I put additive in tank. Something else seems to be causing the issue.

Most people say to stay away from anything but an AC Delco pump. My .02. Also check the ground wire and the plugs for signs of heat.
