I have a 71 LeMans with a 350 cid engine. I think the block is bad. Has anyone bought new crate motors? If so, where from and what kind of experiance have you had? Or long block remans? Again, where from? And how well does a chevy engine fit in? I would rather stick with the pontiac mill. But?

If you go with Chevy you will need an adaptor to fit the transmission. You can buy brand new Chevy crate motors through www.summitracing.com or www.jegs.com or independant shops. Depends on what you are looking for, just a replacment or more power. How do you know the block is bad?

If you're a novice like me you can pull the motor and tear it apart. I bought a book called "How to Rebuild Pontiac V8's" by Rocky Rotella. Lots of info, step by step instructions, and lots of pics. Like Melsg5 asked, whats wrong/how do you know something is wrong with the block?
PS Just my opinion, Chevy motors belong in Chevy vehicles :)
