Hi all. My blower never seemed to blow very hard since I bought my '93 Sunbird LE.
I finally got around to removing the blower motor and cleaning out any dirt. I also used compressed air from inside the blower area and from inside the car vents.

I also noticed when I am driving and the fan is in Heater on High, when I accelerate the fan makes a slightly different sound and I hear a small click.

Any ideas would be great.

I noticed we can upload zip files, so if needed I can record the sound and upload as a zip file.

When you had the motor out did you notice excessive play in the motor shaft? If it moves too much it may be causing the blower fan to hit something.

Stephan, I had the same sort of problem, was the heater core was plugged up on the outside ( engine facing side) with a black fuzz.

Read the fix below, copied from my "Moving to PR" thread:

"Under the car , I noticed two drain holes at the bottom of the heater box looked plugged so I stuck in a screwdriver , and a ton of stuff was in there, so remembering the JBody forum info on the heater core plug up issue I read a while back , I decided to get on it.

Had to take out the blower motor, move the PS resivoir and tie it out of the way and take out the wiper motor. The lower heater box bolts are a pain to get to so I cheated a little by removing the upper 4 only and prying the box away enough to check the heater core. It was full of a black type fuzz! I used a small tooth size wire brush to get it off the the core first, then vacumn , then blow it out, then finally a hose down . Put it all back together, resealed the heaterbox, and now finally have air flow inside the car!"
