I have an '83 fiero. I'm debating wether to put a supercharged 3.8L in it or a norstar, any suggestions? thanks! :)

There is no such thing as a 1983 Fiero. The first model year was 1984.

As for swaps, It is up to you as to what engine you want. There is plenty of information on doing both kinds of swaps.

I would suggest the 3800 S/C I'm working on getting the stuff for mine together right now. I decided to go this way because 1. Lighter than the Northstar 2. easier to swap the trans. with it. 3. Higher availability for swap parts (at least seems that way it seems as of late.) Now as to you having a 83 I suppose it would be possible as it could be a pre-production car. I'd be very interested to get confirmation of this being possible

Actually the Northstar V8 (464 dressed) is about 20 lbs lighter than a 3800SC. (485 dressed) The Northstar uses the same bolt pattern as the 3800SC so the same transaxle can be used with either engine.

All pre-production Fiero's are not street-legal and were all designated as "1984"
Model years start in September. So the first Fiero was built on September 13 1983 but is titled as a 1984 model year. If he is reading the date on the door sticker, that is the build date not the model year of the car.
