Alright so guys here's what's up. I've got this little GTP, runs well, miles are low... amazing motor, easily and cheaply buildable. One problem though... it can't corner, I can't take it out on a track and throw it around like I can a RWD. So then I was set to sell this GTP and move on to a TA, strip it lightly, roll cage, put some koni shocks and strano springs with some beefy juicy tires and call it a day. But today, I was suddenly informed of the Fiero. Now I know literally nothing about the Fiero but I do know the L67 is easily done. But that's about all I know. Let's take price into consideration, I can buy a good TA for say $8k+suspension, tires and brake upgrades. If I wanted to do a Fiero track build, what would I need and how much would it be for the L67 build (I can't swap the engine myself btw...everything else ie suspension, brake work I can). And will it surpass the F-bodies performance on the track? Common physics say it would (2800 vs 3400), and with the Fiero, what type of suspension is good? Is there a good coilover setup? Can I stick 18x10 wheels w/ 285 square stanced tires? Educate me people! :)

To start with you say GTP but that could be either a Grand Prix or a G6 and could be a whole bunch of different years. How much research have you done in improving what you have? Is that thought totally out of scope?
On to the Fiero, you are trying to find out information not only about a swap but turning the car into a track road race suitable vehicle which is even less common.
You don't state what organization you want to do track road racing with which begs the question do they allow a Fiero with that kind of modification to run in a class where it actually will be competitive?

98-02 W-body GP GTP, there's absolutely 0 chances of this ever even seeing life above 1 Gs let alone keeping up with Corvettes. And track as in not in a competitive way, I just wanna go around in OTDs is all, no serious autoxing or anything. Race-prepped, maybe I didn't word it correctly, more like sport-prepped. I want the thing to take turns like a monster, be able to keep be equal or better than modern sports cars (ie Vettes) around corners and be competitive (couple car lengths?) in the straights... I know the TA can take care of the job. But seeing the weight of the Fiero and the L67 makes me wonder otherwise.

This site has parts for suspenion modification and other parts, but the car wont out perform a modern Corvette.

Well than why go through the trouble of buying a Fiero, swapping and doing all these things when I can just take the easy way out and buy a TA or a Formula (or maybe even a Catfish) and get thick tires, strano springs, koni shocks all paired with an aggressive sway bar setting, toss a cage in, lightly strip it and call it a day? Thanks for the advice! :)

Not too clear on what you are trying to do since you again mention "toss a cage in, lightly strip it". This is for a street driven car? In addition you reference to "OTDS" ? You may be better off looking at a used C5 or C6 generation Corvette.

My 86 gt fiero corners extremely well with just piolt super sports and 17 inch enkei wheels.

You can buy a fiero gt for Less then 3k if you want, toss on some good wheels and tires. And decide from there if you want to go further with the platform.
These tiny cars respond extremely well to modifications.
