For Sale 455 HO rocker valve spring oiler plates - PAIR
$200

Any chance you can post a picture of the part?
I'm an original owner of a 71 GTO 455 HO and have no recollection of what that is.

Have you ever had the valve covers off? The HO has large plates that mount on top of two of the head bolts that direct oil from the push rods back down onto the rockers and valve springs to lubricate and cool them. The pair I have for sale are in far better condition than those in the attached pic I found online.

Found it in the 1983 parts catalog. 9786653, Baffle. Strangely they list the part being used on all V8's with 4bbl carburetor from 67 to 72 except Ram Air IV. At the time the price was $13.05. In my case at one point I installed the complete Ram Air IV valve train, cam, lifters, push rods, rocker arms, etc. and I'm sure those baffles were discarded. Eventually went back to the original 068 camshaft.

Interesting.... I wonder of if the non RA/HO engines used a different version with a different P/N. I will inspect mine and see if I can find a P/N on them and report back.

Here is the parts book, group 0.354
