fuel filter in 98 pontiac sunfire 2.2L?

I am looking for the location of the fuel filter on a 1998 pontiac sunfire 2.2L engine. Is it under the hood or in the gas tank itself?

in the tank. drop the tank or see if there is a slot in your trunk under the carpet that gives u access, like hondas. Probably not due to the yea and American. Drop that tank and get the new pump and filter. clean the wiring harness and outside assembly, sand down with light grit paper (bc it's made of aluminum) and spray paint it with anti-rust.

The fuel filter is not in the fuel tank. They are located by the rear of the fuel tank mounted to the underside of the body (usually right above and forward of the rear axle)
