Fuel Needle Stuck

Hi again, well at this point you have to consider the age of the wiring and vehicle your working on. I was hoping you could pull the Gauge cluster panel off leaving the gauges in place. then remove the plastic cover that protects the gauges.

If this does not come apart like I mentioned and you have to remove the entire gauge, I would track down a wiring harness and using flashlights and mirrors even a inspection camera to find the signal wire from the sending unit to verify the proper voltage to the gauge.

If you can find a good service manual that gives detailed information on servicing the gauges that would be a good start.

personally I wouldn't attempt messing around by removing the wiring or gauge harness until you have in your hands a replacement harness.

I would imagine the insulation is dry rotted and crunchy by now.
