Doing some diagnosing of a no-start issue with my sunbird. Base model with the 2.3. I was surprised to learn that it is an electric pump, I'm guessing an inline one. This may be a dumb question but where is it located? Thank you in advance.

Best to start with jacking up the car safely, and crawl underneath with a light, and find the pump if it is inline. Usually they are visible (at least it was on an Alfa Romeo) coming from the gas tank, with a black fuel line, into the fuel pump. There may be a main pump (outside the tank) and an auxilliary pump (inside the tank). You will have to poke around. Not that hard to do.

Requires to drop the fuel tank to replace the pump, simular to new cars....filter is in the carburetor.....

Hardest part is freeing up the fill tube rubber hose and reinstalling....Done it on my 80 Monza.. luckily I had the 151 in mine and it had a pump on the engine....👍
