Hi ,

i have a 95' Sunfire , 2.2L , 4dr. Sedan . The issue i am having is the fuel pump is not turning on when you turn on the key . I have had the fuel pump out of the car and bench tested by my mechanic and the pump works fine . i have checked all the plug ins , fuses , and fuel pump relay , all seem to be in working order . I was told their was a way to bypass the pump from the relay and was wondering where i need to place the jumper wires . The Pins on the relay are numbered 1 through 5 . Any help would be greatly appreciated . I was also told that it might be a bad ECU ?.

Brian.

what did you do to check the fuel pump relay. When you turn the key to the run position and using a test light or voltmeter, does the relay get power coming in and have power going to the pump? Are you working with a wiring diagram for your car?

If everything is working as you think, you should be able to answer this question.

Do you have battery voltage going to the fuel pump checked at connection at the fuel tank?

If not this is where you need to start if your working without a diagram.

If your working with a wiring diagram you can start by checking for power at the relay testing the wire the leads to the pump.

I do not have a diagram for your car yet I have provided a discount code to Alldata DIY

Alldata would be the least expensive way to not only get the diagrams you need but the proper pin point test and list of factory TSBs that may have a related repair or diagnostic procedure on.

Once your logged on and perhaps need help understanding what you looking at or other help feel free to ask.

However without you having access to this information I would not be of much help you you.

If this is not the help you want or need feel free to wait for someone that may have the pin information and data you seek.

Good luck with your repair.

I had my friend put his hand on the relay , then turned the key on...he felt it Click....And i know just because it clicked , Doesn't necessarily means it's Good...but i swapped it out with another Relay of the same , and it clicks as well. I do not have a shop manual at this time for the car , but i do have a Voltmeter that i can borrow to check out some things. I'm frustrated a bit as i purchased a new fuel pump thinking that was the issue , and it is not...$300. not well spent. I will do some more diagnostics on it tonight ( to the best of my limited knowledge) , i hate electrical .
