I have a 2005 sunfire, just wondering what would be the cause if excessive fuel use. I have used injector cleaner and checked a few other things and it is still bad. Could the EGR valve have something to do with it? Any info would be helpful.

Faulty EGR Valve could increase fuel consumption... http://www.ehow.com/about_6157262_symptoms-bad-egr-valve_.html. If you think it's due to the EGR Valve then clean it, and see if it helps... http://www.ehow.com/how_5201552_clean-egr-valves.html.

Check the EGR Valve, clean it if necessary and replace the EGR Valve gasket if you do clean it. Do a full tune up (plugs, plug wires, air filter, fuel filter etc.). Check tire pressure.

No egr valve on an 05 to check. 3 most common on that car will be air filter, fuel filter , 02 sensor
