gauges

You mean the whole instrument cluster?

yes i need to replace the lens someone tried to clean them and messed them up

Good question. I need to do the same thing. Half the Electrical doesn’t work in my 1970. When I bought it I had it delivered and dropped off. While cleaning it I found multiple mummified mice on the floorboard and under the dash. I’m almost Positive they chewed through the wiring. All the warning lights inside work on cluster the shifter lever light and climate control but that’s it. None of the exteriors work nor the gauges. No headlights, blinkers, tail lights, etc. All fuses and relays were replaced and are good.

If these are cars you intend to keep you need a copy of the factory Service Manual. Amesperf.com and others have them.

i am going to keep the car all electric work just someone tried to clean the lenses and it is very hard to see through

You need the manual. It explains step by step how to disassemble the dash and just about anything else you would want to do.

That's the Assembly Manual not the Service Manual but an excellent resource if doing a restoration.

1. Disconnect battery and drop lower AC duct.
2. Remove lower instrument panel trim and glove box.
3. lower steering column.
4. Disconnect speedometer cable and heater cable at case.
Etc.
So unfortunately yes it has to come out per the book.

thanks that was what i needed to know i just didn't want to pull the dash then find out i didn't have to
