gear shift delay

My 2007 Torrent is experiencing a huge delay shifting between 2nd and 3rd gears -occurs about 20 mph. I been easing off the gas when it gets to 20 mph to give the trans a chance to shift and avoid over reving the engine.
I think it is an electronic issue and not in the trans itself. Anyone experience such?

i also have some warning lights on which maybe related.

Check engine light on.

the tranmission will not shift correctly depending upon what the underlying engine issue is. Autozone will check the codes for you.

My fix for that was the TransGo shift kit. It wasn't actually much of a shift kit, but really fixed my similar problem. There are 3 solenoids that get gummed up, line pressure, shift pressure and I forget the other one. Mine also would delay engaging 1st when coming from reverse after it was warmed up. They are duty cycle solenoids, always going back and forth. There are youtube videos about this. I hardly ever get those messages after the trans fix. Find the codes though.
