• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Got my first Pontiac in January 1978

welcome to the forum and wow! That is an incredible amount of mileage. Can you tell us more about it, what options, what major, if any, parts have had to be replaced.

I bought the car used with 50,000 miles on it from a VW dealer in Merced, CA. The previous owner was someone in the USAF that originally bought the car in Biloxi, MS. I was in the USN and in Orlando, FL at the time and needed a good car to drive to Upstate New York. I flew home to Merced from Orlando and picked up the car, bought two snow tires and mounted them on wheels from a wrecking yard and put them behind the front seats. Had to put them on in OK on the way there.

The original 350 CI V8 is sitting on an engine stand in my garage. I have an Edelbrock Performer Cam, Intake and Carb.
The original transmission pump stopped working at 350k.
My next door neighbor owns a transmission shop. I took it to him and had him put in a THM400 transmission and modify the propeller shaft.

I went to a wrecking yard in Turlock, CA and found a 1970 GTO 400 CI engine. I had it rebuilt and I replaced the 350 with the 400. The 400 also has an Edelbrock Performer Intake and Carb. I have also replace the standard ignition with a GM HEI Distributor.

I also have a 1964 Pontiac Catalina I purchased in 1994 for $399 with a 389CI, Rotohydramatic 375 automatic (slimjim), Edelbrock Performer carb and intake. I also replaced the standard ignition with a GM HEI Distributor.

nice collection of Pontiacs

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Holy moly! You still have your first car? I think many of us automobile enthusiasts wish we still did. Mine was a 1970 Chevy Nova. Post a picture of your LeMans...
