I have a 02 grand am v6. The brake is soft when you start it after it sits over night. After driving it for a little the brake get hard. When the brake gets hard the car starts to drag. When its soft the car dont. I never had this problem with the car draging. The front rims get hot to the touch. The brake pad are good. I'm going to try to adjust the back shoes. Maybe thats where I'm geting the drag. If thats the case then why am I geting heat in the front. The heat on the rim is were you cant leave your hand on it.

You could have a stuck caliper or a rubber brake hose that is internally collapsed.

calipers are new an both sides are doing it. Still could be a bad one. I checked the front brake pads 2 months ago. They still looking new. Just my thinking an I am not a machanic but if one of the calipers or a claps hose one of the sides would be bad as in pads.

You are the one who states the rims are getting too hot meaning sticking caliper or bad hoses. Suppose a blocked port in the master could retain pressure after you release pedal.

Is there a way to check to see if the calipers are sticking or the rubber house?
