Hi,

I am having trouble with fog lights on a 2002 Grand Am GT. I am not certain these ever worked since I bought it. I have checked the fuse and relay on the passenger side panel by swapping with know good ones. I have checked the bulbs and they are also good. I opened the switch panel on the dash and it seems fine to me. I attempted to jumper the switch by putting jumper wires into the harness when it is removed from the back of switch panel. I am not sure though that I did that right though.

Can anyone think of any way to further test switch or if there is some known oddities with these fog lights?

Thanks.

Did you use a voltmeter to determine if there is power at the bulb socket and at the relay?

Haven't tried to measure voltage yet at bulb. Can do next time I get to work on it. Not sure how to measure at relay if its in the panel. Did you mean the connection points when it is removed?

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, the socket that the relay plugs into.

I solved this issue. I found that passenger side fuse E I believe whichever is for "CRUISE" was bad. Visually it was good but when measured with an ohmmeter in the holder it measured just enough 580 ohms to cause issues. Why that fuse with fog lights who knows?
