Hello, I recently purchased a base model 2006 Torrent AWD for winter duty. Car has 209k kilometers, but mechanically sound. However, there are a few minor issues to deal with, one of which are the blown front shocks. I have more than a passing interest in performance modifications, and got the idea that GXP running gear may be a direct bolt on and offer me some handling benefits. Is this true? And where would be the best place to buy parts for this vehicle (preferably for a Canadian resident)? Thank you

from what I can see none of the major aftermarket companies, Bilstein, Koni, Eibach make suspension components for the Torrent. The GM parts catalog does list the GXP for 2009, FE3 spring and strut.

Yes, perfect. I swapped the FE1 shocks on my old G5 a few years back for FE5s off a Cobalt SS/TC with great effect, so I expected something similar with the Torrent. Will the FE3 running gear directly bolt up to a base model Torrent?

If so, I'm sold. Thanks

there are no differences in the frame/unibody so just look through the link I gave you for the FE3 parts that are different from the base FE1 suspension.
