My coolant resevior decides to spit up a half cup of coolant every once in awhile… more-so now that its cold here in Michigan. Leaves the light on for the coolant. I think its a head gasket leak into the cylinder seeing my floor isnt wet… anyone deal with the same sh&t? Its a new overflow.. bought the car with overheating issues because the cap was stripped. Bought a new one, no more overheating issues but have to keep adding fluids to it.

Did you pressure test the cap?
Did you try a cooling system hydrocarbon test?

What year? These cars if V6, had intake gasket leaking problems, new gaskets and intake bolts are the fix... Factory Dexcool antifreeze eats gaskets, antifreeze ends up in the oil eventually, but GM refused to issue a recall, many an engine was ruined as a result....☹️

2004, just noticed the cap is loosened each time even though i really tighten it, been using distilled and occasionally it just burbs up water onto the ground and probably occasionally disappears. I think the head gasket is the issue which is unfortunate

Replace the cap and buy a cooling system hydrocarbon test kit.

Are you talking about the coolant reservoir cap because mine does not have a radiator cap

Yes, that is the pressure cap for the cooling system

On my thermostat housing where there is sometimes a bleeder screw I have a pipe fitting that runs into a rubber hose into the coolant reservoir that is where I have been trying to bleed the system at it works the first time but this time I noticed when I release the pipe fitting to bleed the system no water came out I took the pipe right off with the car running and no water came out of there does that give anyone a clue what might be going on.
