Hi guys. I got that hei issue sorted out and my next order of business is rebuilding a q jet but before I do that I would like to swap my t3 headlights out for something significantly brighter. does anyone have any recommendations? I see the 7 inch conversion kits on summit. do these get rid of the bezels? if so how would one adjust them? I also saw a set of 4 halo sealed headlights here:

http://www.topgearautosport.com/par..._Headlight_Conversion_Low_and_High_Beams.html

anybody know if these would swap right out or would I have to install a resistor so they don't burn up.

one other issue I'm having is my lights shutting off every now and then when I use the high beam pedal. common issue on these cars?

why not just insert halogen sealed beams? They just plug in. The headlight switch has a circuit breaker built in. So you either have corroded electrical connections causing an excessive amperage draw or the headlight switch has to be replaced.

I was going to get a set of halogens but I'm concerned as to whether they will be bright enough

I'm using halogens in my 71 Lemans convertible. They're plenty good

The floor mounted high beam switch gets stopped on pretty hard and abused over the years. It is easy to check with an ohm meter to see if it needs to be replaced.

I like the conversion kits you found, they claim minor trimming may need to be done.

They would install with the factory bezels using the factory adjustments

The thing would concern me is the price and lack of reviews anywhere online.

I would also want to know what would have to be trimmed so I would call their support line and find out before purchasing them.

anytime modifications are required on parts that arent easy to find, I would be reluctant.

I found some hella lights that are designed to replace round lights in US cars of all makes. they fit just like the t3 lights. the only difference is they need a 9 dollar harness with a ceramic tip so the stock plug doesn't melt. haven't had any installation issues so I'm feeling confident so far. haven't tried yet but I will post results and part numbers if anyone is interested.

yes, please let us know how it goes

hello guys. been about a week now and those lights work great. I also got a new switch for the brights and now all 4 lights work when I turn the brights on as opposed to either 2 lows or 2 brights setting. if you would like some parts numbers let me know and I will gladly fetch them.

yes please, when you have a chance post the numbers, thanks

there was no hassle with the fit. installation is the same with the addition of a 9 dollar ceramic harness that is used specifically to keep from melting the original connection. i did read some reviews that said they had trouble with fit but i didn't run into any issues.
