headlights

i have a 98 sunfire. the other day i got in the car and had no headlights at all! i have running lights, but no low or hi beams. signal lights are good and interior lights are fine. the fuses seem okay. before i buy new headlights (seems odd that they would both go at exactly the same time?!!) i wondered if anyone else has had this problem? seems to me like it might be electrical? anyone have any thoughts on the kind of cost involved in solving this little problem? thanks

there may be a headlight relay in one of the fuse boxes. Typically there are two boxes one in the engine compartment and the other inside in the dash area. If you have the owners manual it will tell you where to look.
