I have a 1998 Sunfire, the lowbeams wont turn on at all unless you play with the turn signal switch, for a little and even with that the smallest bump makes them turn off again... same with the highbeams..day time running lights work will not turn off unless car is in park, or emergency brake is on even if headlights are switched to the on position. Checked fuses, and its not the bulbs. It seems to be a switch or a relay in the dash..?? Anyone know anything about this or how to go about fixing it?

it is most likely you turn signal switch(or lever) if you get it from the dealer its like 80 bucks so trying going to one of your local auto stores

I had the same problem with my 96 sunfire GT. It was still under warranty at the time but it was the switch.

i have a 2000 sunfire gt and my drivers side headlight is new but is very dull what should i do?

Headlights are important lol!!!!!!

I hate to say it but what i would doin your situation is replace the whole steering column.... bcuz it sounds like the switch with the turning signal is faulty.... It may seem like a whole lot over a minor problem but headlights are very important... and risking hitting a bump and losing light sould be devastating.... in actuallity replacing the column only takes about 20 - 30 mins depending on whos doings it.... I am no mechanic but my friend put in mine and it didnt take long... Another thing to note is when putting back in the steering column if you do it your self there is a "condomn like plastic" lol that goes around the end that you insert back into the car... Remember to put it back on when reinserting the column because if not you will get a Good Draft of air when traveling... Especially with the window down it draws air from there lol.... Hope this helps!!!!!
