• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... I found this site and was hoping you all could help with a question that has been troubling for some time. What is causing my 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT with a 3.4 to surge and then die when it is first started? If you keep your foot on the gas pedal it will continue to surge for 30 seconds or more before it smooths out. Anyone else ever encountered this? Any thoughts? Thanks for any help this has been going on for while.

Welcome aboard! How long has it been since you replaced the fuel filter? Are there any codes set on it?
