Help, I found a little red wire running from the fuse box

I was working on my co workers Montana and I found this little red wire disconnected, I have no clue what it connects to. Does anyone have an idea?
 
you mean it is just stuck into the fuse box and appears to be non-factory?
if so, there is no way of telling without more information, what non-factory accessories/audio etc. have been installed and are not working?
 
It runs from the the fuse box above the battery, it's part of wiring running to the alternator and ect. We are having alternator problems but when tested twice at two different locations the alternator tested fine.
 
I'm not sure how to add pictures or I would add one of the wire
