This is for a 97 sunfire

Bumping an old thread again but if u still need help...

pass air bag, your going to need to pull the dash pad. Open the glove box, youll see two x head screws holding the radio bezel surround on, once removed it will pull out of the way, you will than need to remove the 2 side panels on the dash (fuse box area as-well as blank on the pass side. one screw for each) you will than need to take out another 2 from the top of the glove box area which will remove the black strip of medal across the top of the glove box, you will than fined 3 7mm bolts...remove. than up on the dash remove the center vent (x head screw) you will then fined another x head screw holding the windsheld trim across the front of the dash, once removed pop that trim off. you will than fined another i want to say 4 7mm screws below across the base of the windshield. than 2 gold 7mm by the air bag. the dash pad will now pull off. you will be at the air bag and 4 gold 7mm will be holding it in.

the module is located under the pass. seat..under the carpet. and the front sensor is located in the hood latch area (i'm not sure if you will need a new one) but i can say the air bag pair and module need to be replaced together

I have the same problem. I replace both bags and the light is still on. Why do you need to replace the module? Can't you just clear the codes?

All the parts are coded together, not to mention once an air bag system goes off it sorta fries itself. Not uncommon to see connectors melted together etc
