After drilling, plugging, and milling head from coolant leak I then replaced head gasket, cover gasket. Put in new thermostat and O-2 sensor, new wires and plugs. Cleaned the injectors. Replaced a couple worn fuel and vacuum hoses that were cracked. No more leaks. But, my 2.2 (Iron Duke), 1995 Pontiac Sunfire was bogging down if I stepped on it and then would provide small backfires. Using gas very quickly with no apparent fuel leaks. Thought it was the cat converter and removed it and ran a straight pipe. Situation seems to have improved. However, get up and go is less, and if I get up to 40 MPH and go for passing gear by flooring it, then same hesitation and small backfire. Any suggestions? I have not checked for codes with scanner yet.
Thanks to all in advance as I need this car to get me to work for at least another year.
