I have a 2002 grand am - I start it up and it races to 3500 rpms. I have replaced the pcv valve and checked the throttle cables and throttle pedal. I don't know what else to try or what could be causing this.

Any help would be appreciated! ;)

look for a vacuum leak or a sticking Idle air control motor . Follow the PCV line and inspect it carefully as these are common to go bad
