Horn out of the control

Horn went off while 03 Grand Am was parked overnight.
It would not shut off.
I had to go under the hood and pull the horn fuse out.
I took it to a dealer and had the horn system reset.
That did not work.
They said it may be that the airbags in the steering wheel need to be replaced.
This will cost $600+.

Any other suggestions.

I have no horn now. Should I just buy a manuel horn to save money?

when you say you took it to a dealer do you mean a GM dealer?

It should just take an "adjustment" of the switch under the steering wheel.

I had the same issue with my girlfriends car- I replaced the horn relay & that worked for about 2 weeks- now it is happening again.

Does anyone know how to check the horn contact in the steering column without setting off the airbag? That was going to be my next move to fix it.
