How do i set the timing on a 2000 pontiac sunfire?

I believe the timing is out on my 2000 pontiac sunfire i need to know how to check it, and then set it if it is out.
We're getting fuel to the injectors and we have a spark, but it isn't firing. The starter is turning. We changed the fuel pump because we thought that was the problem but to no avail. We even tried jumping it in case there wasn't enough power in the battery. Timing as about all we have left.

The timing is all controlled by the computer. There is no adjustment. Are the injectors firing, or did you just check for fuel at the rail.
