How do I set up the Bluetooth Hands-Free device in my '09 Pontiac G8 GT when it...

...is also OnStar Phone equipped? I followed the instructions in the manual, but all that manages to do is get me back to making an On-Star phone call, which I do not want to do. I want to set up my G8 to use the radio as a hands-free Bluetooth device.

How far do you get on the pairing? At which point does it try to make a call with on-Star?

You need the pairing code for your phone. do you have it? Did you turn your phone on and have it searching for a device? If you don't set the phone up properly the car will not see a BT device and will default back to the phone built into the car.

This is a confusing statement. You are trying to get the car radio to work hands free?
The car radio is not a Bluetooth device to my knowledge.

the manual state touch the answer on the steering wheel, which then says on star ready, now what? You say bluetooth and it says no number stored

Hopefully you have found out your answer by now, but it sounds like you may not have bluetooth!!!!! Keep in mind that the 2009 did not come with BLuetooth.... they started bluetooth when the 2009.5 model yr came thru.

This pissed me off more than anything because I bought a 2009 and I thought I had it. My saleslady said I did, the 2009 brochure said 2009 models had it, but unknown to me at the time, they paused the release of it until 2009.5 when they raised the prices a bit. I was PISSED.... I felt we were mislead and the dealer said "Sorry but you should have know--- and we are not responsible if the salesperson mis-qouted because there is alot to know......" I love GM, but I hate some of the dealers and their lack of knowledge of the cars (notice I said "some"... some are great and some just suck!@!!!--- ) Hopefully you did get it if you wanted it..... but if not, I guess you got bit also.....
