How hard is it? 69 lemans fuel tank

How hard is it to remove a 69 lemans fuel tank?

The tank is fine but I want to replace my trunk pan. I ordered the 3 piece job from Ames.
Is it easier to just cut the old trunk out and weld the new one in without removing the fuel tank or is that pretty dangerous?

Or should I just remove the fuel tank before cutting out the trunk pan?

you remove the tank first, not a big job and it guarantees you will be able to finish the job without going poof!
